A brief look at the different way of using thumb, index, middle and ring fingers to create fast percussive lines on the bass. This style was developed first by Matt Garrison - first used in his early days with Joe Zawinul and then with John McLaughlin - but now fully developed through his solo work.
A starter lesson for this technique - hopefully some of this information is clearer to understand than in previous videos - this is should help you break down the basics of the this technique to begin incorporating it into your playing.

I felt like getting mellow - so here's a jazz ballad - it's the chords to Wayne Shorter's Miyako - this was a single take and I'm using a little reverb from my EBS Dynaverb pedal - sounds nice.
