This was Dune 2, one of the first real-time strategy games ever. It has been developed by Westwood Studios and released in 1992. Here you can see an early self-running PC demo version including the intro.

No need to introduce Dune 2: The Building of a Dynasty. I wonder if there's a single PC gamer (of a sufficient age) who hasn't played Dune 2. I sold my soul and time to it once as well. Looking back at the game, I see a lot of flaws about it (a poor AI, for instance), but in honor of its former glory: the last 10 minutes of the Emperor's reign.

The intro for the most memorable game in the Dune-Saga: Dune 2.
It was the game that really started the whole RTS-genre (real-time strategy). Some games had made RTS before dune 2, but dune 2 was the one to make the breaktrough!
(But this is from the European version of Dune 2 - Dune 2: The Building Of A Dynasty)
Tiré du livre de Frank Herbert, il révolutionna les jeux de stratégie grâce à une jouabilité facile avec la souris, Une organisation en temps réel et des graphismes surprenants(pour l'époque). Exellent pour un jeu de 1992.

A somewhat rare cartridge, Dune 2 for the Sega Megadrive/Genesis manages to surpass the PC original, even without the much needed mouse support. Better graphics and identical Gameplay made this one a winner back in 1994, I was very sad not to see it on the Super Nintendo. Enjoy me having some fun on mission 1 with House Atreides.
