On May 24, 2008, NUAMPS shot the Northwestern University School of Music's performance of L'Elisir d'Amore, The Elixir of Love. Composed by Gaetano Donizetti, this piece premiered in Milan in 1832. Donizetti excelled in both tragic works and comedies, though beneath the surface silliness of L'Elisir and amid all the humorous goings-on, there lies a stratum of genuine human feeling and sympathy.
