It does tend to be the big musical numbers that get shown these days. But to me the truly great aspect of their shows was the intimacy of their relationship and the scenes in their imaginary flat, including their shared bed! It always seemed perfectly natural that Eric and Ernie should be in bed together!

very funny clip of Tom Jones singing 'Exactly Like You' with Eric Morecambe and Ernie Wise as a silly backing duo.. from an early '70's M&W show on the BBC. It was shown again in a 1999 BBC compilation programme called 'The Sunshine Boys' introduced by Michael Parkinson. I've never seen this clip shown anywhere else..pure genius..thanks for all the comments!!

Copycats Ant and Dec are poor substitutes for the real thing. Morecambe and Wise were a great UK comedy duo throughout the 1960s/1970s. Ant and Dec copy them right down to actually looking like them and acting like them. Let us not forget, who the real Morecambe and Wise were!

Video of the Morecambe Bay tidal bore, during the day. Imagine this happening whilst you are in the dark and stranded several miles offshore. This happened to the 21 chinese cocklers who drowned when they were caught by this event.
