This is a clip from the 1979 Pittsburgh Men's Club Allegheny Jazz Festival, featuring the innovator and absolute master of solo jazz guitar, George Van Eps. Here he plays the Gershwin tune "I've Got a Crush on You" (thanks yo jason8string for letting me know). As you can tell, he is using a seven string guitar which he also innovated. Hope you enjoy.
Here's an excerpt from a 1996 workshop and show given by the incredible Scotty Anderson at the Chet Atkins Appreciation Society. He plays a few tunes and talks a bit about his style and a couple of other subjects. Anyhow, enjoy it!
Here is another clip from Scotty's 1996 workshop given at CAAS. He is talking a bit about chord substitutions and gives some examples, then plays solo versions of "Caravan" and "Mystery Train." Enjoy.
Here is an excerpt from the 1990 TV show "Expressions in Jazz," featuring the Rob McConnell Quintet with the great Ed Bickert on guitar. Why in the world the camera-man focuses on the bassist during Ed's solo is beyond me...
Personnel:
Rob McConnell - valve trombone
Rick Wilkins - saxophone
Ed Bickert - guitar
Kieran Overs - bass
Jerry Fuller - drums
