This sketch was one I wrote for the TRACEY TAKES ON EROTICA episode. It stars the brilliant Tracey Ullman as Linda Granger, SEYMOUR CASSEL as her manager Candy Casino, VICTORIA PRINCIPAL as herself, and RICHARD DIMITRI as the eunuch, Budi. It is always a kick when you include a celebrity in the writing stage and they are actually the one who ends up doing it.
This is another sketch I wrote for Fern Rosenthal - this was from TRACEY TAKES ON AGE. Fern has her third marriage proposal of the month. The brilliant Tracey Ullman plays Fern, of course, and Otto is played by AL RUSCIO.
Somebody requested this scene from TRACEY TAKES ON CULTURE. In it, Shaneesha tries to get a literary agent (Rene Auberjonois) to publish the book in her head. The brilliant TRACEY ULLMAN stars as SHANEESHA with the wonderful ADELE GIVENS as Hellura.
FERN ROSENTHAL comes to HOLLYWOOD as the winner of a hair dye contest - she has won a walk on role on DR. QUINN MEDICINE WOMAN. With the actual SULLY (JOE LANDO) from the series doing a cameo. These three segments ran separately in the TRACEY TAKES ON HOLLYWOOD episode when it aired. This is one of my favorite FERN episodes.
From the episode TRACEY TAKES ON DRUGS, this sketch stars the brilliant TRACEY ULLMAN as airport security's Shaneesha Turner. She is having a blood pressure emergency. This scene also stars the awesome ADELE GIVENS as her best friend HELLURA and PATRICIA BELCHER as IDA. I wrote or co-wrote with Tracey all of the sketches starring her Shaneesha Turner character.
Another character that Tracey Ullman played brilliantly was attorney SYDNEY KROSS. In this sketch, she is given a gift certificate to a dating agency - she is always abrasive - in this scene she is abrasive and horny.
This is Part I of one of the Cliffhangers that were a regular part of the RIDERS IN THE SKY Saturday Morning CBS show that I wrote and produced. . This one guest stars the fabulous JULIA SWEENEY as tabloid columnist Tunga Tujunga. I make a brief on-screen appearance as the announcer. This sketch also stars MIKE CAPELLUPO as "Jimmy" and MINDY STERLING as "Lois."
Everybody loves Linda Granger. This is one of my favorite sketches I wrote for this character, performed by the brilliant TRACEY ULLMAN. She has been hired to read a book on tape and is under the misconception that she is reading for the blind (and deaf). This scene also stars the late great STANLEY DESANTIS (he passed away in August 2005) as "Bobby."
By request, this is Part 2 of the BROADWAY BABY Cliffhanger from the RIDERS IN THE SKY Saturday Morning CBS series. It stars a very young (and fantastic) RICKI LAKE, MINDY STERLING, PETER HASTINGS and the RIDERS - Ranger Doug, Woody Paul, and Too Slim. I wrote and did the voiceover for all of the cliffhangers. The series was directed by GARY HALVORSON.
This might be the only monologue I ever wrote for the donut shop lady, MRS. NOH NAH NING. It is called "People of All Ages Love Donuts" and was part of the TRACEY TAKES ON AGE episode. Mrs. Noh Nah Ning is played, of course, by the brilliant Tracey Ullman.
This is the first of several scenes written for Tracey's FERN ROSENTHAL character for the episode TRACEY TAKES ON ROAD RAGE. In addition to the hilarious Tracey Ullman, it also stars series regular JULIE KAVNER as Jobe, and guest stars the wonderful CLEA LEWIS as the girl at the counter.
This is my favorite of the scenes I did for SYDNEY KROSS, Tracey Ullman's high-powered attorney character. It gave Tracey a chance to show off what a good dancer she is.
My first "Alphabetics" on Password Plus, this one with Tony Randall. This was taped by my sister's mother in law off air, so it's not as pretty as the Carol Burnett one. And this Alphabetics doesn't have as happy an ending. I am in another borrowed suit - this one has a vest!
This is another song I wrote with WILLIE ETRA for the brilliant TRACEY ULLMAN. It is from a sketch in the LOSS episode of TRACEY TAKES ON. LINDA GRANGER wrote a special song for the memorial service of Rayleen's husband Mitch, a "little person stunt man." It's called "In Heaven There Are No Freaks."
This is another of the sketches I wrote for Tracey Ullman's character SHANEESHA TURNER. This is from TRACEY TAKES ON LIES and also stars the wonderful ADELE GIVENS as Hellura.
